I just randomly remembered a song I wrote back in 7th or 8th grade. It was called "Waterfall" and at the time I was writing it I knew that the waterfall was a metaphor for something, I just wasn't sure what. Lacking a clear answer, I said that it was about a destructive relationship.

In the song, the main character returns again and again to the Waterfall, which soothes and numbs them, but "disturbs the calm below."

Now, as an adult looking back, it's clear as night and day what the song's about: addiction. How strange that I could have such oblivious revelations at that age! While I knew about drugs and alcohol, addiction was not something I'd ever had to confront in my life. Where did this song come from??

I'm thinking I need to somehow revive this piece...
